The Ménière's Society provides information and support for people with vertigo, tinnitus and deafness (Ménière's disease).

The aims of the Ménière's Society are:

  • To provide information about Ménière's disease to members, health professionals and the general public.
  • To raise public awareness of Ménière's disease.
  • To encourage research into the causes and treatment of Ménière's disease.
  • To monitor world-wide developments in Ménière's disease management.

 NADP (National Association of Deafened People)

The NADP offers support to newly deafened people as well as those who have been deafened for many years.

The NADP’s Activities  include:

  • The NADP provides information through its publications. These contain information for both deafened people and professionals working within social and health areas related to the field of deafness. The booklets are also useful to help other groups within the community such as employers.
  • The NADP publishes a quarterly newsletter, 'Network' to keep members in touch with each other and to provide information and updates on any developments that may affect them. Network is distributed amongst all members, local groups, etc.
  • NADP provides information and advice on employment, telecommunications, equipment and other subjects.
  • NADP has a number of local groups and other contacts in various parts of the country which arrange social events and provide support at grass root levels. For details, please contact their membership secretary or write to the address on their home page.

National Cochlear Implant Users Association (NCIUA)

The NCIUA is the Association that represents all Cochlear Implant Users in the United Kingdom. It is open to all implant users, their family and friends.

The aims of the NCIUA are to:

  • Campaign for funding through the NHS for all who need cochlear implants regardless of where they live in the United Kingdom.
  • Campaign for quality support services for all users - actual and potential.
  • Promote a nationwide network of local support groups.
  • Work to increase public awareness of the benefits of cochlear implants.

NGTS is the UKs text to voice relay service. It allows deaf people and people with speech difficulties to communicate with hearing people using the telephone.
